Woman arrested for throwing live dog into Seti River
In Bajhang, police have arrested 42-year-old Bimala Devi Rokaya on charges of throwing a live dog from a bridge into the Seti River. Preliminary investigation reveals she did so after the sick dog began biting people.
Bajhang — Police have arrested a woman on charges of throwing a live dog from a bridge into the Seti River.
According to the District Police Office Bajhang, 42-year-old Bimala Devi Rokaya, a resident of Jayaprithvi Municipality-3, Pades, was arrested for throwing the dog into the Seti River from the Panakot Bridge at Jayaprithvi Municipality-10, Chainpur.
Police said she was arrested on Wednesday and kept in the custody of the District Police Office for further investigation.
According to police, the dog had been sick for about two weeks, with its hindquarters festering and emitting a foul odor.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the woman threw the dog into the Seti River from the Panakot Bridge after it began biting people walking on a nearby road. The District Police Office Bajhang said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
