Weekly Stock Market: NEPSE Rises 3.43 Percent, Daily Average Turnover Reaches Rs 6.12 Billion
This week, the NEPSE index rose by 3.43 percent or 87.73 points to close at 2647.22 points. The daily average turnover increased by 49.41 percent to Rs 6.12 billion, while market capitalization grew by Rs 150 billion.
This week, the NEPSE index closed higher. Over the week's trading, the NEPSE rose by about three and a half percent. From 2559.49 points last week, the NEPSE gained 3.43 percent or 87.73 points to reach 2647.22 points.
The market was open for all five trading days this week. Of these, the NEPSE closed higher on four days and lower on one day. This week, the Float Index rose 3.78 percent, the Sensitive Index rose 3.85 percent, and the Sensitive Float Index rose 3.99 percent.
Along with the NEPSE, turnover also increased. From a daily average of Rs 4.09 billion in share purchases last week, this week saw a daily average turnover of Rs 6.12 billion. Compared to last week, the daily average turnover amount is 49.41 percent higher. Similarly, the daily average number of shares increased by 52.70 percent, while the daily average number of transactions decreased by 23 percent.
This week, the total market capitalization of NEPSE also increased by 3.43 percent. From Rs 44.02 trillion on the last trading day of last week, the total market capitalization rose by Rs 150 billion to reach Rs 45.53 trillion.
This week, the indices of all 13 sub-groups increased. Among them:
- The Life Insurance sub-group rose the most at 5.75 percent. From 11,299.25 points last week, this sub-group gained 649.36 points to reach 11,948.61 points. In terms of points, this sub-group also saw the highest increase.
- The Mutual Fund sub-group rose the least at 0.87 percent. From 19.50 points last week, this sub-group gained 0.17 points to reach 19.67 points.
