Viraat Agri Limited is set to issue an IPO. The company has appointed NIC Asia Capital as its issue manager, along with institutional advisory services. Established with the objective of developing Nepal's agriculture and aquaculture sector in a commercial, modern, and sustainable manner, the company is located in Itahari-13, Sunsari.
The company has been engaged in commercial integrated agriculture and fish farming through approximately 150 ponds across more than 100 hectares of water area in Morang and Sunsari districts. It is emerging as one of the leading commercial fish farms among the country's large and well-managed operations. The company has been producing and distributing various types of floating and sinking fish feed for its projects and the market through a modern fish feed plant with a daily production capacity of 25 tons in the Khanar Industrial Area, Itahari-13.
In line with its long-term plan to integrate the entire value chain of the agriculture and aquaculture sector and make production, processing, packaging, and marketing more organized and commercial, the company aims to utilize the capital raised from the proposed public share offering to expand production capacity, adopt modern processing technology, and develop commercial infrastructure.
Viraat Agri plans to establish a pangasius filleting and fish processing plant that will process pangasius fish using modern technology to produce, package, and market fillets and other value-added fish products. Additionally, in addition to the currently operational Floating Fish Feed Plant, it aims to establish a modern Pellet Feed Plant with a daily capacity of 10 tons to produce nutritious feed for fish and livestock. In the coming days, along with the development of these infrastructure components of the integrated agriculture and fisheries value chain, Viraat Agri aims to connect the entire process from production to processing, packaging, and marketing into a unified system.
Under the "Farm to Market" concept, the company is advancing a plan to develop fish production at its own farms, fish feed production, modern processing and filleting, cold storage, packaging, and market management into a single integrated commercial cycle. This expansion plan of Viraat Agri aims to contribute to value addition, adoption of modern technology, employment generation, and import substitution in Nepal's agriculture and aquaculture sector.
NIC Asia Capital has been providing necessary advisory services under its "IDEA to IPO" service, which includes converting private limited companies from any sector into public companies and facilitating initial public offerings.
