Kathmandu. The meeting of the CPN-UML's election review and party restructuring task force is being held today at 9 AM at the party office in Chyasal.
It is said that the meeting has been called with the objective of preparing a single report after consensus could not be reached among the leadership while the debate on party restructuring is ongoing.
Earlier, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Vice Chairman Ram Bahadur Badal prepared separate reports, which escalated the dispute. Although a residential meeting was held last week to try to unify both reports, consensus could not be reached among the leaders, and it is understood that leader Pradeep Gyawali prepared a separate report under the direction of Chairman KP Oli. It is said that Gyawali's report will be presented at today's meeting.
After the task force meeting today, the Secretariat meeting will be held at 1 PM. The Secretariat will set the agenda for the Central Committee meeting starting tomorrow. The Central Committee meeting is scheduled to be held from Ashoj 5 to 7 in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur.
