Today's Weather: Cloudy Nationwide, Heavy Rain Likely in Some Places

Kathmandu . The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has informed that currently, there is a partial influence of monsoon winds as well as westerly winds across the country. The monsoon trough is positioned south of its average location, according to the Division.

Currently, the country is generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain is occurring in a few places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

This afternoon, the country will be generally cloudy. Thunderstorms/lightning with moderate rain/snowfall are likely in the following places:

• A few places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces
• A few places in the Himalayan regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces
• A few places in the hilly regions of the country
• A few places in the Terai region of the country, with moderate rain

Similarly, heavy rain is likely in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, according to the Division.

Tonight, the Himalayan and hilly regions will be generally cloudy, while the Terai region will be partly cloudy. During the night, thunderstorms/lightning with moderate rain/snowfall are likely in the following places:

• A few places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces
• One or two places in the Himalayan regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces
• A few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces
• One or two places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces
• One or two places in the Terai region of the country, with moderate rain
