Addressing a special ceremony organized at the President's Office on Saturday on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day 2083, he said that a change in political culture is necessary to strengthen democracy.
President Paudel said, "Only if we can establish a culture of respecting dissent, learning from criticism, and making the state accountable to the people will democracy be strengthened and the aspirations established by the constitution be fulfilled. For this, let us resolve today to implement the constitution not in speeches but in the lives of citizens."
He said that good governance and effective public services are necessary in practice to connect political change with citizens' lives. He stated that the constitution is not just a collection of words or sentences written on paper but a shared pledge of citizens' dreams, hopes, expectations, and rights. He said that Constitution Day is not only a day of suffering from disasters but also a celebration of achieving the constitution and a day of self-reflection.
2. NPL Third Edition Match Schedule Announced
The match schedule for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) has been made public. According to the schedule released today by the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), the third edition of NPL will be held from Kartik 9 to Mangsir 5 (October 26 to November 21).
- Opening match: Kartik 9, Lumbini Lions vs Sudurpaschim Royals
- Last league match: Kartik 29, Chitwan Rhinos vs Karnali Yaks, and Pokhara Avengers vs Kathmandu Gorkhas
- Playoffs: First Qualifier on Mangsir 1, Eliminator on Mangsir 2, Second Qualifier on Mangsir 3
- Final: Mangsir 5
This season, there will be one match on 6 days and two matches on 11 days. On days with one match, the match will start at 4:30 PM, while on days with two matches, the first match will start at 12:30 PM and the second at 4:30 PM, according to CAN.
3. Pentagon Releases Sixth Batch of UAP Records
The U.S. Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has released its sixth batch of records on unidentified aerial phenomena. The released documents include details of secret military research programs, alleged injuries linked to mysterious aerial incidents, and decades-long government investigations.
The latest release contains 71 records from 1952 to 2025. Of these, 67 are from the U.S. Department of Defense and four from local security agencies in Colorado. The records include 55 PDF documents, 15 videos, and one audio recording. Most materials have some details redacted.
The most significant details relate to an advanced aerial weapons system application program established in 2008 by a defense intelligence agency. The program studied potential aerial security risks visible until 2050 and new technologies. The program ended in 2012.
The released materials also include 37 defense intelligence reference documents. These documents study topics such as space tunnels, potential technology for extremely high-speed travel, anti-gravity technology, negative mass-based propulsion systems, and invisibility technology. These documents had already been released under the Freedom of Information Act. However, the latest version includes additional details, including the names of some government offices that prepared them.
The Pentagon clarified that these materials are not original research but rather studies and reference materials on various concepts. Therefore, the Pentagon also stated that the concepts mentioned in the documents should not be taken as proven facts.
