Kathmandu. The government has developed an 'Automatic Surveyor Deputation System' to automate the process of deploying surveyors for insurance claim damage assessment.
The system was developed with the objective of automating the surveyor deployment process to make it based on good governance. Currently, the data of all surveyors has been entered into the system. This system will make the selection of surveyors transparent based on their expertise, availability, geographic location, seniority, and portfolio, among others.
The system will automatically select surveyors based on specified criteria, and the government believes it will help identify and control situations where surveyors are repeatedly given work or other surveyors are not given adequate opportunities.
The government states that the system can also 'track' details such as how much work a surveyor has received, which work they have completed, and whether they are in a position to take on new work. This system will also reduce the time and cost in the insurance claim process.
