Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited distributed an average of 18.61 percent dividend over the last five fiscal years. The bank distributed a total of 93.07 percent dividend, with cash dividend accounting for 76.57 percent and bonus shares only 16.50 percent.
Kathmandu. Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has distributed dividends to its shareholders at an average rate of 18.61 percent over the last five fiscal years. During the review period, the bank provided a total of 93.07 percent dividend, in which the share of cash dividend appears significantly stronger compared to bonus shares.
The bank distributed a total of 76.57 percent cash dividend over the five-year period, with an annual average of 15.31 percent. Similarly, during the same period, the bank issued only 16.50 percent bonus shares, with an annual average of 3.30 percent. The bank appears to have continued its strategy of providing direct cash returns to shareholders rather than focusing on capital growth.
Looking at the fiscal year-wise data, the bank distributed 19 percent cash dividend without any bonus shares in FY 2081/82. Earlier, in FY 2080/81, the bank provided a total of 25.50 percent dividend, including 6.50 percent bonus and 19 percent cash, which is the highest return in the last five years.
Similarly, in FY 2079/80, the bank provided only 19.00 percent cash dividend, and in FY 2078/79, 16.51 percent cash dividend. In the previous fiscal year 2077/78, the bank distributed a total of 13.06 percent dividend, comprising 10 percent bonus shares and 3.06 percent cash.
