Speaker Aryal to Inaugurate Ninth Nepal Land and Housing Exhibition with Over 100 Stalls and Climate Panel Discussion

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal is set to inaugurate the 'Ninth Nepal Land and Housing and Construction Exhibition–2083' scheduled to be held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, on Thursday. The exhibition, running from Thursday to Sunday, is in its final stages of preparation, and stall construction began at the venue on Tuesday.

Organized jointly by the Nepal Land and Housing Development Association and the Nepal Land and Housing Development Federation in collaboration with the Nepal Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee, the inauguration by Speaker Aryal is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, according to the organizers. Exhibition coordinator Roshan Bhoydyo said stall construction was completed by Wednesday.

CG Properties/CG Holdings is the top sponsor of the exhibition. Asian Paints is the powered-by partner, and Prabhu Insurance is the insurance partner. Similarly, organizations including Smart Pani, KB, and UHS Holdings are supporting the exhibition, according to the organizers. Sia Event Associates Pvt. Ltd. is responsible for exhibition management.

The exhibition will feature companies and businesses from sectors such as apartments and collective housing, land development projects, construction materials, cement, steel, wood, glass, paints, sanitary ware, pipes and fittings, electrical equipment, interior design, solar energy, rainwater harvesting, waste management, security systems, automation technology, prefab and uPVC doors and windows.

Likewise, banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, hospitals and health services, engineering and architectural consultancies, real estate developers, and construction-related organizations will also participate. The organizers said various companies and businesses from India, along with Nepal, will participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition is being developed not just as a marketplace for land and housing transactions but as a platform to provide information and consultation on safe, organized, and environmentally friendly housing construction. Experts in earthquake-resistant home construction and architecture will offer free consultations to visitors.

Another major attraction of the exhibition will be panel discussions on contemporary housing and infrastructure issues. Discussions will be held among policymakers, government officials, engineers, architects, private sector representatives, and relevant experts on topics such as climate change, disaster-resilient infrastructure, safe settlement reconstruction, and public-private partnerships.

The organizers said the key topics of discussion will include how to make collaboration between the public and private sectors more effective in building safe settlements and infrastructure amid the rising risk of disasters due to climate change, post-disaster housing reconstruction, and infrastructure development.

The exhibition also prioritizes modern and environmentally friendly construction technologies. Solutions including solar energy, rainwater collection and reuse, energy saving, waste management, and smart technologies will be presented at the exhibition. Efforts are also being made to make the exhibition paperless through the use of digital standees, electronic kiosks, digital displays, and virtual and augmented reality technologies.

According to the organizers, over one hundred stalls have already been booked for the exhibition. The participation of real estate developers, construction material manufacturers and distributors, banks and financial institutions, insurance, health, engineering, architecture, interior, and modern construction technology businesses and companies will make it easier for consumers preparing to build a house or buy land to get information about various options from a single location.

The organizers said arrangements have been made for general visitors to receive information and direct consultations on home and land selection, construction materials, safe construction technology, financial services, and insurance. Alongside this, health camps, blood donation, and various social programs will also be organized. The organizers said there will also be a program to run a free health camp in collaboration with Om Hospital and Grande International Hospital and to provide free health treatment packages for Rasuwa flood victims.

With the main slogan 'Safe Housing, Every Citizen's Right,' the exhibition will present technology, materials, and services related to land and housing transactions as well as modern and safe housing construction in a single venue.
