Six construction companies blacklisted for failing to work on highway contracts
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted six construction companies for failing to complete work on the Karnali Highway and Nagma–Gamgadhi road upgrade and construction contracts on time. Recommended by the Road Division Office Jumla, these companies will be barred from participating in public procurement for one to three years.
Kathmandu. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted six construction companies for failing to work according to contracts for the upgrade and construction of the Karnali Highway—including the road connecting Jumla to Manang–Mustang—and the Nagma–Gamgadhi road.
According to Shrawan Kumar Mahatara, chief of the Road Division Office Jumla, the companies had signed contracts with the Road Division from fiscal year 2075/76 to 2080/81, and were recommended to the Public Procurement Monitoring Office in Kathmandu for blacklisting after they failed to complete work on time.
Among the three companies recommended by the Road Division under Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063:
- Binamra Nirman Sewa Surkhet – blacklisted for three years
- Dhruva Nirman Sewa Birendranagar Surkhet – blacklisted for two years
- Abinash Nirman Sewa Chhayanath Mugu – blacklisted for one year
Similarly, Shankarmali Nirman Sewa Kathmandu and Maan Shahi Nirman Sewa Kalikot were blacklisted for three years each, while Kashyap Nirman Sewa Kathmandu was blacklisted for two years, according to Sub-engineer Birendra Rawal of the Road Division Office, who said the notices were made public on Wednesday.
Shankarmali Nirman Sewa was blacklisted for failing to work as per its contract on the Nagma–Gamgadhi road, and Kashyap Nirman Sewa for the Jumla–Manang–Mustang road. The remaining construction companies were blacklisted for failing to complete contracts on time for road upgrades and construction in the Kalikot area under the Karnali Highway section, Sub-engineer Rawal said.
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has stated that blacklisted companies cannot participate in any procurement proceedings of public entities for the specified period.
