Savings of 79 Depositors in 6 Troubled Cooperatives Refunded
The Problematic Cooperative Management Committee has refunded savings to 79 small depositors across six troubled cooperatives. The refunded amount was recovered from the cooperatives' borrowers, and the committee stated that other depositors will be refunded in phases.
Kathmandu — The Problematic Cooperative Management Committee has refunded the savings of 79 depositors across six troubled cooperatives.
According to the committee, the refunded depositors include 25 from Gorkha Cooperative, 6 from Gautamshree Cooperative, 13 from Shiva Shikhar Cooperative, 3 from Ideal Yamuna Cooperative, 3 from Oriental Cooperative, and 29 from Kantipur Cooperative.
The committee stated that those receiving refunds are small depositors. The refunded amount was recovered from the cooperatives' borrowers.
Having begun refunding small depositors in the first phase, the committee said it will gradually refund other depositors as well.
