RSP MP Amresh Singh Announces Mechi–Mahakali Foot March
Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, MP from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has announced a Mechi–Mahakali foot march starting from Janakpur the day after the Chhath festival. He said he will walk 5 hours and listen to people for 7 hours daily during the march. He also pledged not to engage in factional politics and to raise the voice for Madheshi participation.
Janakpur — Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, MP from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has announced a Mechi–Mahakali foot march. Speaking to journalists in Janakpur on Sunday morning, he said he would start the march from Janakpur the day after the Chhath festival.
Singh said, "The day after Chhath, I will go to the banks of the Mechi River, collect its soil and sand in a pitcher, and carry it to the Mahakali, where I will offer it with barley and sesame on the day of Maghe Sankranti."
He informed that he had notified the party about the march and asserted that he is not someone who stays within limited boundaries. He said he would speak less and listen more to the people during the march. According to him, the plan is to walk 5 hours and listen to people for 7 hours daily.
Clarifying that he does not engage in factional politics within the party, Singh said, "I am against factionalism. I am in a faction—the faction of the country and the people. I am in the faction of Madhesh's prosperity and participation. I have my faction; politics cannot exist without factions. I have not only demanded a Madheshi face but also participation."
