Retail and piecemeal arrangements alone cannot advance the capital market: Chairman KC
Hari Bahadur KC, Chairman of the Nepal Share Market Investors Association, stated that retail and piecemeal arrangements alone are insufficient to resolve the capital market's long-term problems. Speaking at a Finance Committee discussion, he alleged that securities regulations are not published in the Nepal Gazette on time, making the market sensitive and beyond government control.
Hari Bahadur KC, Chairman of the Nepal Share Market Investors Association, has said that the retail and piecemeal arrangements introduced from time to time alone cannot advance the capital market. He expressed this view while participating in a discussion of the Finance Committee on Wednesday.
He raised serious questions about the tendency of various securities regulations not being published in the Nepal Gazette on time, and questioned why the government has been unable to bring the sensitive trading system of the share market under its control.
Noting that there are countless irregularities and problems within the capital market, he made it clear that the tendency to bring forward only retail and piecemeal arrangements in the name of solving those problems will not provide a long-term solution.
Chairman KC emphasized that timely implementation of regulations, a transparent trading system, and structural reforms are necessary for the sustainable development of the capital market.
