Remittances rise 21.2 percent in Shrawan, reaching Rs 215 billion
In the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84, remittance inflows increased by 21.2 percent to Rs 215.05 billion. Although this growth is lower than the same period last year, the absolute amount remains high. In US dollars, remittances rose 10.2 percent to 1.40 billion.
Kathmandu — In the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84, remittance inflows increased by 21.2 percent to Rs 215.05 billion in Shrawan. In the same period last year, remittance inflows had increased by 29.9 percent.
During this period, remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 10.2 percent to 1.40 billion. Last year, such inflows had increased by 25 percent.
The number of Nepalis receiving final labor approval (institutional and individual–new) for foreign employment stood at 42,693, while those receiving re-labor approval numbered 27,748. In the same period last year, these numbers were 44,466 and 23,644, respectively.
Similarly, net secondary income (net transfers) reached Rs 229.98 billion in Shrawan. In the same period last year, such income was Rs 193.85 billion.
