Rastra Bank puts new Rs 50 note into circulation today; here are its features
Nepal Rastra Bank has put new banknotes of Rs 50 denomination into circulation starting today, Ashoj 2. The new note, in the same size and colour as before, features Sagarmatha, Lali Gurans, a security thread and other features.

Kathmandu | Nepal Rastra Bank has put new banknotes of Rs 50 denomination into circulation in the market starting today, Ashoj 2.
The central bank has issued the Rs 50 notes in the same size and colour as before, with symbol numbers from T24–000001 to N70–999999.
Features of the note
On the front of the note:
- In the central section of the note, the promissory text reads: ‘Shree Nepal Rastra Bank, guaranteed by the Government of Nepal, upon demand for payment of this rupee, fifty rupees shall be paid immediately by Nepal Rastra Bank.’
- On the left side of the note is an image of Mount Sagarmatha, and on the right is a watermark of Lali Gurans (rhododendron). Below it is also a watermark bearing the number ‘50’. In the lower section of the note, the series number ‘B.S. 2082’ is written.
- The note bears the signature of Governor Dr. Bishwanath Paudel.
- The note has a security thread woven into 1.2 mm wide paper, which is fully visible when held against the light, and the thread bears the letters ‘NRB’.
