Kathmandu — Nepal Rastra Bank has put a new Rs 50 banknote with revised features into circulation.
According to the Currency Management Department of the central bank, the Rs 50 note with various added features while maintaining the previous size and design came into circulation from Ashoj 2, 2083.
The new note includes the following features:
- The promissory text ‘Shree Nepal Rastra Bank, guaranteed by the Government of Nepal’
- On the front, an image of the Himalayas and a watermark of a rhododendron, along with a watermark of the numeral ‘50’ at the bottom
- On the back, an image of a walking leopard, with ‘Nepal Rastra Bank’ at the top and ‘Fifty Rupees’ and the ‘2025’ series number at the bottom
Nepal Rastra Bank said it has introduced the note in the market with revised security features while keeping the previous size and design.
