Kathmandu. The government has improved and reoperationalized the electronic public procurement system (e-GP). The Public Procurement Monitoring Office under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has brought the system back into operation starting today.
The Software Development and Operation Center under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had shut down the e-GP system since Bhadra 11 due to security risks.
There is a legal provision requiring all public entities to publish national and international bids for construction works and goods procurement through this system.
Under the new arrangement, bidders and suppliers can submit proposals online or in hard copy. However, the opening and evaluation of bids must mandatorily be done through the electronic system.
