'Pink Walk 2026' to be Held on Asoj 17 to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
To promote early detection and raise awareness about breast cancer while expressing solidarity with affected individuals and families, 'Pink Walk 2026' is set to take place on Asoj 17. Organized by Infinite Cares in collaboration with Cancer Care Nepal, the walk will route from Kathmandu Durbar Square to Patan Durbar Square.
KATHMANDU — Aimed at raising public awareness about breast cancer and highlighting the importance of early detection, 'Pink Walk 2026' is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Asoj 17, starting at 6:00 AM. The awareness march is being organized by Infinite Cares in collaboration with Cancer Care Nepal.
This year's walk will flag off from Kathmandu Durbar Square (Basantapur) and conclude at Patan Durbar Square (Mangalbazar) in Lalitpur. The event will see participation from healthcare professionals, cancer survivors, affected families, media personnel, and representatives from various corporate and social organizations.
Key Objectives of the Campaign:
- To spread awareness regarding regular health check-ups and the vital importance of early detection of breast cancer.
- To provide social and emotional support to individuals and families undergoing cancer treatment and rehabilitation.
- To create an open environment for discussing breast cancer freely.
According to Dijup Tuladhar, Unit Head at Infinite Cares, "Pink Walk is not merely a rally; it is a collective expression of awareness, hope, courage, and solidarity. Our primary goal is to foster an open dialogue about breast cancer, emphasize early diagnosis, and stand firmly beside affected families."
The initiative is partnered by National Hospital and Cancer Center, ISS Sound, Novala Biotech, Pathao Nepal, eSewa, and Happy Minds. Additionally, it receives support from the Nepal Cancer Survivors Society, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
The first edition of the walk, held in Asoj 2080 BS, saw over 600 participants walk from Narayanchaur, Naxal to Swayambhu, marking a major success.
