Partnership between Ncell and NATO: Easier Telecom Access for Tourists Visiting Nepal
Ncell has partnered with the Nepal Association of Travel Operators (NATO) to provide reliable mobile connectivity to international tourists. This collaboration aims to enhance the travel experience and promote the 'Nepal Calling' campaign. Additionally, through the Ncell Foundation, support will be provided to build modern wash infrastructure along major highways.
Kathmandu — Ncell has announced a partnership with the Nepal Association of Travel Operators (NATO). The main objective of this collaboration is to make telecom services easily accessible and simple for international tourists visiting Nepal.
At an event held at the Nepal Tourism Board on Thursday, Ncell's Chief Consumer Business Officer Upaanga Datta and NATO's President Bishwesh Shrestha signed a memorandum of understanding regarding this collaboration.
This partnership aims to make it easier for tourists from various countries visiting Nepal to stay in contact with their family, friends, and everyone else throughout their journey. It will address the important need for communication while traveling in different parts of Nepal.
Under the partnership, Ncell will provide reliable mobile connectivity to tourists, while NATO will disseminate information about Ncell's services and facilities to tourists through its network of travel operators spread across the country.
Addressing the event, Datta said, "We believe this partnership, by leveraging Ncell's extensive network across the country and NATO's diverse reach in the tourism sector, will make the travel experience of tourists visiting Nepal unforgettable. Not only this, the partnership will also play an important role in promoting the 'Nepal Calling' campaign and establishing Nepal as a major tourist destination."
NATO President Shrestha said, "The essence of tourism is connecting with one another. Connecting people with people, connecting cultures and experiences. We are excited about this meaningful collaboration with Ncell, which will help every traveler visiting Nepal stay connected with everyone throughout their journey."
Beyond telecom services, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Ncell through the Ncell Foundation will support NATO in installing modern wash (safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene) infrastructure along major highways. This will begin as a pilot project in Gajuri, Dhading district.
This initiative addresses the growing need for facilities for tourists and local communities traveling these routes, and also demonstrates both organizations' shared commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism development in Nepal.
