President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that no state or system can succeed by keeping citizens in despair. Speaking at an event organized on the occasion of Constitution Day, he emphasized the need to connect political change with citizens' lives and make federalism a foundation for development.

Speaking at a greetings exchange and tea reception organized at Shital Niwas on the occasion of Constitution Day on Saturday, President Paudel said political change must be genuinely connected to citizens' lives and implemented in practice.
He stressed that the constitution has gifted federalism in place of a unitary and centralized governance system, and this must be made an important foundation for the country's development. He noted that the constitution is not merely a collection of words or sentences written on paper, but a shared pledge of citizens' dreams, hopes, and rights.
Stating that the government should be a 'servant' of the people, not their master, and that justice should be the core objective of the state, he commented that an environment must be created where no citizen feels alone in their own country.
The event was attended by President Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, representatives of diplomatic missions, and leaders of various parties, among others.
