No New Notes This Dashain Either, Rastra Bank to Circulate Clean Notes
Nepal Rastra Bank will not distribute new notes during this year's Dashain festival as well. Having refrained from issuing new notes for the past two years, the central bank is preparing to circulate only clean notes this time, though a formal decision is yet to be made.
Kathmandu — New notes will not be available this Dashain either. Nepal Rastra Bank has decided not to issue new notes this year as well, continuing its practice of not distributing new notes during Dashain for the past two years.
Instead of new notes, the central bank is preparing to circulate clean notes. According to Rastra Bank officials, clean notes are abundantly available in the market and there is no need to distribute new notes.
However, Rastra Bank has not yet made a formal decision to distribute clean notes instead of new notes this Dashain.
