NEPSE rises by 22.85 points, turnover reaches Rs 6.74 billion
The NEPSE index increased by 22.85 points, or 0.87 percent, to close at 2,647.22 points. Total turnover stood at Rs 6.74 billion, with 196 companies advancing and 74 declining.
Kathmandu — The NEPSE index rose by 22.85 points, or 0.87 percent, to close at 2,647.22 points. A total of 2,12,72,761 shares of 345 securities were traded in 64,072 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 6.74 billion. Among the traded companies, 196 advanced, 74 declined, and 9 remained unchanged.
Among the 13 sectoral sub-indices, Banking rose 1.59 percent to 1,511.16, Hotels and Tourism increased 0.33 percent to 7,210.19, Hydropower gained 0.85 percent to 3,665.08, and Development Banks went up 0.40 percent to 5,495.64.
Performance of other sub-indices:
- Manufacturing and Processing: up 0.58 percent
- Non-Life Insurance: up 0.48 percent
- Trading: up 0.85 percent
- Microfinance: up 0.75 percent
- Life Insurance: up 1.52 percent
- Mutual Funds: up 0.19 percent
- Investment: up 0.10 percent
- Others: down 0.11 percent
- Finance: down 0.02 percent
Among the gainers, Snow Rivers Limited (SNORL) led the way, with its price rising 13.66 percent to Rs 1,057. Infinity Microfinance Financial Institution Limited (ILBS) climbed 9.81 percent to Rs 1,065, and Mailung Khola Hydropower Company Limited (MKJC) closed 8.84 percent higher at Rs 320.
Among the decliners, Hathway Investment Nepal Limited (HATHY) fell 15 percent to Rs 499.80. Dhaulagiri Microfinance Financial Institution Limited (DLBS) dropped 5.13 percent to Rs 1,184, and Matribhumi Microfinance Financial Institution Limited (MATRI) declined 2.64 percent to Rs 739.
