NEPSE Rises 22.85 Points, Turnover Nearly Rs 7 Billion
On Friday, the last trading day of the week, the NEPSE index rose 22.85 points to close at 2647.22. A total of 345 scrips were traded, amounting to Rs 6.74 billion.
On Friday, the last trading day of the week, the Nepali stock market saw a double-digit gain. The NEPSE index rose by 22.85 points to climb to 2647.22 points. Along with the rise in NEPSE, the turnover amount also increased compared to Thursday.
On Thursday, the NEPSE index had increased by 11.93 points to reach 2624.36 points. That day, transactions worth Rs 5.49 billion took place. On Friday, shares of 345 scrips — 2,127,2761 shares — were bought and sold for Rs 6,74,56,31,607.
Among the stocks traded, prices of 196 stocks increased while 74 declined. The prices of the remaining 9 stocks remained unchanged.
- The share of Snow Rivers rose the most, by 13.66 percent.
- The share of Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha increased by 9.81 percent.
- Mailung Khola Jalvidyut Company rose by 8.84 percent, Yambaling Hydropower by 6.20 percent, and Bottlers Nepal (Terai) by 5.06 percent.
Investors of Hathway Investment Nepal suffered the most losses on this day. Its share fell by 15 percent.
In terms of turnover amount, Kumari Bank topped the list. The bank conducted transactions worth Rs 320 million.
- Laxmi Sunrise Bank traded shares worth Rs 270 million.
- Global IME Bank traded Rs 230 million.
- Liberty Energy traded Rs 220 million.
- Siddhartha Bank traded shares worth Rs 210 million.
Except for the sub-indices of Finance and Others groups, the sub-indices of all other groups appeared positive. The sub-indices of Banking and Life Insurance groups increased by 1 percent.
