Nepal Rastra Bank will conduct a 28-day deposit collection auction on October 2, 2026, targeting Rs. 18 billion. Eligible Class A, B, and C banks can bid until 2:00 PM, with the interest rate determined through competitive bidding. The funds will be repaid on October 30, 2026.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to absorb Rs. 18 billion from the banking system through a 28-day deposit collection instrument on October 2, 2026 (Ashwin 16, 2083).
The auction will be conducted via the Online Bidding System Software (OBSS) until 2:00 PM on the same day. The interest rate will be determined through the bidding process, and the principal and interest will be repaid on October 30, 2026 (Kartik 13, 2083).
Eligible Class “A,” “B,” and “C” banks and financial institutions licensed by NRB may participate. Bids must be submitted at a minimum of Rs. 100 million, with additional amounts in multiples of Rs. 100 million, up to the total issue amount.
NRB will allocate the deposit starting from the lowest offered interest rate until the Rs. 18 billion target is reached. If bids at the same interest rate exceed the available amount, allocation will be made on a pro-rata basis.
The deposit collected through this instrument cannot be counted toward the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) but may be counted toward the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) as per NRB provisions.
