Nepal Oil Corporation Takes Strict Action in Diesel Theft Case, Rs 100,000 Fine for Store and Lifetime Depot Ban for Driver
Nepal Oil Corporation's Lumbini Provincial Office has taken action against drivers, co-drivers, and pump operators involved in unauthorized diesel extraction from three tankers. Saraf Oil Stores has been fined Rs 100,000 and suspended from fuel supply for 6 months, while the driver and co-driver have been banned from entering any depot for life.
Nepal Oil Corporation Limited Lumbini Provincial Office, Rupandehi, has taken action in the case of unauthorized diesel extraction from three tankers transporting petroleum products. According to the Corporation, diesel was extracted from three tankers that were transporting 20,000 liters each from the Madhesh Provincial Office in Amlekhgunj to the Bhalwari Depot.
According to the Corporation, the tankers with registration numbers Lu 1 Kha 6504, Lu 2 Kha 1544, and Lu 1 Kha 6619 were caught by police while extracting diesel at the premises of Saraf Oil Stores in Siddharthanagar Municipality-Bhairahawa.
According to the Corporation, tankers Lu 1 Kha 6504 and Lu 2 Kha 1544 were caught while extracting diesel by tampering with the mechanical security locking system, and tanker Lu 1 Kha 6619 was caught while trying to flee after extracting diesel.
During the on-site inspection, it was found that the locking systems of the three tankers were jacked open, manholes were opened, and 30 liters of diesel was kept in a blue drum. The tanker drivers, co-drivers, and pump operator have been sent to the District Police Office for necessary action.
Similarly, Saraf Oil Stores has been fined Rs 100,000 and suspended from petroleum product supply for 6 months on charges of unauthorized purchase and distribution of petroleum products, informed Shailendra Bhusal, head of the Corporation's Lumbini Provincial Office.
The tanker driver and co-driver have been banned from entering any depot or office of the Corporation for life, and they have been prohibited from driving any tanker operating under the Corporation's contract agreement.
