Nepal Always Welcomes US Investment: PM Shah
Prime Minister Balendra Shah, during a meeting with Acting US Ambassador to Nepal Megan Bouldin, stated that Nepal always welcomes US investment. They also discussed cooperation on climate-induced disasters and tourism development.
Kathmandu. Acting US Ambassador to Nepal Megan Bouldin paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar today.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shah expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support shown by the US government towards Nepal in this difficult situation of disaster. He noted that both Nepali and foreign nationals were affected by the disaster.
Prime Minister Shah also mentioned that the incident had to be faced as a result of climate change. He emphasized the need to further strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce climate-induced disaster risks and address their impacts.
Similarly, discussing Nepal's unique tourism potential and opportunities for mutual benefit through tourism development, Prime Minister Shah stated that Nepal always welcomes US investment.
During the meeting, Acting Ambassador Bouldin expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the flood in Rasuwa and extended condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities. She mentioned the US government's solidarity with the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people in this difficult hour and informed that the US government is ready to provide necessary support and cooperation in relief, recovery, and reconstruction efforts.
