Ministry of Finance Studies Feasibility of Extending Insurance and Securities Services to Villages
The Ministry of Finance has begun a study on the feasibility of extending insurance and securities market services to villages. A high-level committee led by National Planning Commission member Dr. Sanjay Acharya will conduct the study based on the five-year Financial Sector Development Strategy.
Kathmandu — The government has begun a study on the feasibility of extending insurance and securities market services to villages. The Ministry of Finance has formed a high-level expert committee to carry out the study.
Although banking services have reached villages, knowledge and services related to insurance and the share market have not. The committee will study the possibilities of expanding access to such services.
The study committee has been formed under the coordination of Dr. Sanjay Acharya, a member of the National Planning Commission, based on the five-year 'Financial Sector Development Strategy'.
The committee includes the following members:
- Mahesh Acharya — Joint Secretary, Financial Sector Coordination Division, Ministry of Finance
- Ramu Poudel — Executive Director, Nepal Rastra Bank
- Mausami Shrestha — Expert Member
