Minibus accident in Kagbeni, Mustang leaves 12 Indian tourists injured
A minibus accident on the Jomsom–Muktinath road section of the Kaligandaki Corridor in Kagbeni, Ward 4 of Waragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality in Mustang, has left 12 Indian tourists injured. The minibus, traveling from Muktinath toward Kagbeni, lost control and overturned on the road. The injured are being treated at the Provincial Hospital in Jomsom, while the driver has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Mustang — A minibus accident on the Jomsom–Muktinath road section of the Kaligandaki Corridor in Kagbeni, Ward 4 of Waragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality in Mustang has left 12 Indian tourists injured.
The minibus with registration number Ba.Pra.01-006 Kha 9609, traveling from Muktinath toward Kagbeni, lost control and overturned on the road. A total of 25 people, including the driver and co-driver, were on board.
The injured are being treated at the Provincial Hospital in Jomsom. Police said the condition of the other 12 passengers is normal and that they are Indian nationals.
Immediately after receiving information about the accident, a police team led by Police Assistant Inspector Rukbahadur Thapa from the Kagbeni Police Post and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramchandra Tiwari from the District Police Office, Mustang, reached the accident site. Police rescued the injured.
The bus driver, approximately 44-year-old Rupen Thapa of Dharam-15, Sunsari, has been taken into custody, and police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
