Manchester City reach Carabao Cup fourth round with 5–0 win over Norwich
Defending champions Manchester City defeated Norwich City 5–0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup to secure a place in the fourth round. 17-year-old Floyd Samba scored twice on his debut, playing a key role in the team's victory. City will now host Brighton in the fourth round.
Kathmandu. Defending champions Manchester City have secured a place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after defeating Norwich City 5–0 in the third round.
In the match played last night at the Etihad Stadium, City produced a one-sided performance to claim an easy victory.
17-year-old Floyd Samba scored twice in City's win. Making an excellent debut, he played a crucial role in the team's victory. He gave City the lead with a header in the 29th minute. Three minutes later, Ryan Sherki scored to make it 2–0 for the home side.
Shortly after the second half began, City scored their third goal. In the 48th minute, Elan, also making his debut, found the net to extend the lead to 3–0. In the 54th minute, Samba scored his second personal goal. He struck an excellent shot from about 20 yards out, placing the ball into the corner of the goal.
In the final minute of the match, Ryan McAidoo scored to seal a brilliant 5–0 victory for City. Norwich's Mohammed Toure had a goal in the 74th minute disallowed for offside.
With this win, City have secured their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. They will now play Brighton at home in the fourth round.
