Nepal Rastra Bank has increased the limit for depositing money into wallets, targeting Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals. Now, natural persons can deposit money into wallets up to 50 times a day. This facility will be available from Ashwin 31 to Kartik 8 and from Kartik 21 to Kartik 29.
Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has increased the limit for depositing money into wallets, targeting major festivals. The central bank made this increase by amending the unified directives related to the payment system.
Now, during Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath, natural persons can deposit money into wallets up to 50 times a day. This facility can be availed from Ashwin 31 to Kartik 8 and from Kartik 21 to Kartik 29.
Previously, natural persons could deposit money into wallets up to 10 times a day.
Nepal Rastra Bank has emphasized digital transactions over cash transactions during festivals. The central bank had also recently urged the use of digital means when giving dakshina during Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath.
With the increase in the limit for depositing money into wallets, this policy of Nepal Rastra Bank appears to be meaningful.
