Land Survey Officer Dilli Bahadur Wali Arrested with Nine Lakh Rupees in Bribe
Dilli Bahadur Wali, team chief and land survey officer of the Land Survey Office Dillibazar No. 3 survey team Machhapokhari, Kathmandu, has been arrested by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority with nine lakh rupees in bribe. He was taken into custody on Bhadra 31 from a restaurant in Basundhara, on charges of demanding a bribe by causing unnecessary hardship to forward the file of the recommendation for registration of exempted land.
Kathmandu — Land Survey Officer Dilli Bahadur Wali, team chief of the Land Survey Office Dillibazar No. 3 survey team Machhapokhari, Kathmandu, has been arrested with bribe money.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) stated that Wali was taken into custody on Bhadra 31 from a restaurant at Tokha Municipality-5, Basundhara Chowk, along with nine lakh rupees that he had already accepted as a bribe.
According to the Commission, Wali had demanded the bribe by causing unnecessary hardship and trouble to forward the file, including the recommendation for registration of exempted land, to the Land Revenue Office, Manmaiju, Kathmandu.
Based on information and a complaint application regarding the matter, a team dispatched from the Commission's office in Tangal took him into custody.
Today, following an order from the Special Court, the remand period has been extended in the corruption case related to bribery, and further investigation is underway against Wali.
