From Startup to Business Expansion: Nepal Chamber and Brihatpreneurs Collaborate
Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Brihatpreneurs have launched the 'Entrepreneur Engagement Program' to support entrepreneurs from starting a startup to expanding their business. The program will assist with business structure, expert consultation, investment, and market access.
Kathmandu. Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Brihatpreneurs have partnered to support Nepali entrepreneurs who start new businesses but struggle to operate and expand them sustainably.
The two organizations have launched the 'Entrepreneur Engagement Program' with the objective of connecting startups to business structure, expert consultation, investment, and markets, and guiding them to the expansion stage. The collaboration was formally announced at an event held on the occasion of the 'Ninth Nepal Land and Housing and Construction Expo–2026' currently underway at Bhrikutimandap.
Launched under the concept of 'Building Business in Nepal: From Start to Expansion', the program is said to help not only establish new businesses but also make existing businesses more organized and scalable.
Speakers at the event noted that although Nepal has business ideas and potential, the lack of structure, guidance, and market access to transform them into practical businesses remains a challenge. They stated that institutional support is necessary because new entrepreneurs face increased risks when they do not receive timely and correct advice on legal, financial, managerial, and market-related matters after starting a business.
Brihatpreneurs has announced that it will not limit itself to the boundaries of a traditional incubator but will advance as an 'Urban Lifestyle Venture Studio'. Its concept is based on clarity, structure, and the right direction to support entrepreneurs from starting a business to the expansion stage.
Under the program, a plan has been proposed to support entrepreneurs in five key areas:
- Execution Hub: Support in translating business ideas into implementation
- Experts Clinic: Expert consultation in law, finance, investment, and market management
- Opportunity Access System: Connecting entrepreneurs with projects, potential partners, and market opportunities
- Service Provider Ecosystem: Connecting legal firms, chartered accountants, branding agencies, and investment analysts into a single ecosystem to provide necessary services to entrepreneurs easily
- Market Expansion: Support in building the necessary business structure to expand businesses limited to local markets to national and international markets
Urmila Shrestha Pradhan, Vice President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and President of Nepal Women Chamber, said entrepreneurship should be viewed in connection with economic freedom. According to her, entrepreneurship not only creates income opportunities but also provides a basis for individuals to work according to their plans and goals. She emphasized the need to connect Nepali youth and women to entrepreneurship, stating that creating many new entrepreneurs contributes to employment and economic activity expansion.
Purnima Rajbhandari, Director of Brihatpreneurs, said that guidance received at the right time in business can reduce potential financial risks. According to her, if entrepreneurs can move forward with low risk, investors and partners can also receive returns, which can create long-term value in the economy. She stated that the collaboration between Nepal Chamber of Commerce's nationwide business network and Brihatpreneurs' technical and consulting capabilities can connect entrepreneurs with business opportunities.
Roshan Bhoydyo, Coordinator of the Expo Organizing Committee, said there is potential for new entrepreneurs in the real estate and construction sector as well. According to him, there are ample opportunities for technology and new business concepts in construction, housing, and real estate-related areas, so it is necessary to attract youth in that direction.
Sudarshan Shivakoti, Program Manager of Brihatpreneurs, informed that plans for various stages have been proposed for the implementation of the program. According to him, a 'Business Health Checkup' will be conducted to identify the current state of the business and pinpoint areas for improvement. Similarly, a two-day 'Business Growth Incubation' program focused on business capacity and growth plans will be conducted. Membership plans have been designed in three tiers according to the entrepreneur's stage: 'Idea Phase', 'Growth Seekers', and 'Scale Entrepreneurs'. The goal is to provide necessary consultation and support according to the stage of the business.
The program is being prepared to expand beyond Kathmandu to five major cities across the country.
