Former Employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank Donate Rs 1.574 Million to Bhote Koshi Flood Victims
Former employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank have donated Rs 1,574,547 for the relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the Bhote Koshi flood in Rasuwa. The amount, collected under the initiative of the Rawa Bank Former Employees Association, was handed over to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha as a cheque to be deposited into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Kathmandu. Former employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank have donated Rs 1,574,547 for the relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the Bhote Koshi flood in Rasuwa.
The amount, collected under the initiative of the Rawa Bank Former Employees Association, was handed over to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha on Wednesday as a cheque to be deposited into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The association has more than 3,000 former employees of Rastriya Banijya Bank as members.
At the cheque handover ceremony, Minister Shrestha expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity shown by the former employees during times of disaster. He said the support received from the citizen level has given the government additional encouragement to fight disasters.
Minister Shrestha noted that the amount collected from the contribution of thousands of association members will help provide relief to flood-affected families. He said such initiatives play an important role in boosting social unity and morale along with financial support during disasters.
The former employees' association has been contributing to social responsibility as well as improving social psychology and promoting financial good governance, according to Minister Shrestha.
