Kathmandu. Power generation and transmission of Sayapatri Hydropower Ltd have been disrupted due to flooding in Baglung.

The company stated that the flood caused damage to the poles and wires of the 33 kV transmission line running from the project's switchyard to the Nepal Electricity Authority's Harichaur substation. Following the damage, power generation and transmission have been halted since 11 PM on Asoj 9.
Similarly, the company mentioned that from 11 PM on Asoj 10, electricity supply to communication towers in Tarakhola Rural Municipality was also disrupted, leading to a breakdown in communication. As a result, contact with staff at the project site has not been possible so far.
According to the company, due to the lack of communication, detailed information on further damage at the project site has not yet been received. The company stated that once contact is established with the staff, the actual condition of the project and details of additional damage will be made public.
Based on information received so far, the company also informed that it is insured under its insurance arrangements for damage to the 33 kV transmission line and other physical structures.
