Finance Minister Wagle's India Visit: Second Day Focuses on Diplomatic and Economic Agenda
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is participating in high-level diplomatic dialogue, a meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister, and a broad economic cooperation program on the second day of his India visit on Friday. On the first day of the three-day visit, he held bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday.
Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is engaging in important diplomatic and bilateral meetings on the second day of his India visit today, Friday. He had departed for India on Thursday for a three-day visit and held bilateral talks with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman the same day.
At 9 AM today, Finance Minister Wagle will participate as the chief guest in a high-level diplomatic dialogue program organized by former Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran. He is scheduled to share his views at the dialogue to be held at the India International Centre.
This evening at 5 PM, Finance Minister Wagle will hold a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. This meeting is expected to play an important role in further strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Similarly, today Wagle will also participate in a broad meeting program organized by Javed Ashraf, President of the India Trade Promotion Organisation. The program, to be held at Bharat Mandapam, will feature extensive and high-level discussions on various dimensions of Nepal-India economic cooperation.
During Finance Minister Wagle's high-level visit, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Amrit Lamsal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gehendra Rajbhandari, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi Dr. Surendra Thapa, Economic Minister Taranath Adhikari, and Personal Under Secretary to the Finance Minister Kanchan Basnet are participating.
On the third day of the visit, Saturday, the delegation led by the Finance Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with the private sector and other high-level officials before returning to Nepal.
