Federal Civil Service Bill: Menstrual Leave for Female Employees, Proposal for Cheap Loans to Buy Land and Housing
Through the 'Federal Civil Service Act, 2083' bill tabled in the Federal Parliament, the government has proposed menstrual leave for female employees and cheap-interest loans for civil servants to buy land and housing. The bill states that such a loan facility can be taken only once during the entire service period.
Kathmandu — The government has proposed granting menstrual leave to female employees through the Federal Civil Service Bill. The 'Federal Civil Service Act, 2083' bill tabled in the Federal Parliament proposes providing menstrual/menstruation leave to female employees.
Similarly, through the same bill, the government has also proposed providing cheap-interest loans to civil servants to buy land and housing.
The bill states:
- 'The Government of Nepal may make necessary arrangements to provide loans at cheap interest rates to civil servants for land purchase and housing construction.'
However, the bill also mentions that such a facility can be taken by a civil servant only once during the entire service period.
