Entrepreneur Prasidha B. Pandey Unveils Strategic Roadmap to Propel Nepal’s GDP to $100 Billion
Senior entrepreneur Prasidha B. Pandey has authored a new book outlining a strategic roadmap to scale Nepal's economy to a $100 billion Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Titled "Prime Minister and Prosperity: Getting Nepal to $100 Billion GDP," the book highlights the urgent need for execution-oriented governance and investment promotion. All proceeds from book sales will be donated to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
With over three decades of experience in infrastructure, telecommunications, and hospitality, senior entrepreneur Prasidha B. Pandey has charted a new strategic direction to convert Nepal's economic potential into tangible achievements. Through his newly released book, "Prime Minister and Prosperity: Getting Nepal to $100 Billion GDP," he presents a practical blueprint to expand Nepal's economy to $100 billion.
Pandey, former President of Hotel Association Nepal and current Chairman of Shangri-La Hospitality Group, previously played a key role in bringing global giants like Alcatel and Mitsubishi to Nepal. Drawing from his extensive business career, he identifies Nepal's primary economic challenge as its inability to translate national potential and commitments into production, exports, employment, investment, and public revenue.
In his book, Pandey proposes concrete solutions to drive economic transformation:
- Prime Minister Delivery System: Empowering the Prime Minister's Office with clear accountability, targets, deadlines, and public reporting mechanisms.
- Adopting Global Best Practices: Drawing lessons from the development trajectories of South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bhutan, and Singapore, tailored to Nepal's unique geography and resource base.
- Investment and Infrastructure Focus: Enhancing coordination among policy, capital, and execution to accelerate foreign investment and infrastructure development.
Released on the auspicious occasion of Janai Purnima, the book is available across major bookstores in Kathmandu, as well as on online platforms including Amazon and Apple Books. Additionally, Pandey announced that all proceeds generated from book sales will be donated to the Government of Nepal's Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
