Drinking Water Industry Launched in Prabhas, Palpa with Rs 20 Million Investment

At a time when the trend of youth going abroad for foreign employment, education, and other work is increasing, the youth of Palpa have instead invested in their village and started a water industry. Young people from Tansen in the district have brought a drinking water industry into operation in the village with an investment of Rs 20 million.

While on one hand youth are increasingly going abroad and on the other hand trade and business activities here are gradually slowing down, Ramji Dunggana, Laxman Dunggana, and Biraj Dunggana have brought 'CN Drinking Water Industry' into operation in Tansen Municipality-7 Prabhas.

Operator Biraj Dunggana said the industry was launched considering the growing demand for drinking water in the local market and the inability of existing industries to supply adequately according to market demand. He informed that preparations are underway to bring processed bottled water in 1,000 ml, 500 ml, and 300 ml capacities to the market in the initial phase, prioritizing consumer health and demand.

Stating that the industry was opened in memory of their mother Narayani Dunggana and late father Chiranjivi Dunggana, they have named it 'CN Drinking Water Industry'. Ward Chairman Pradeep Khanal said the establishment of a new industry with large investment at a time when trade and business in the market are slowing down is viewed positively.

He said, 'The industry will play an important role in creating employment at the local level as well as in ensuring easy supply of pure drinking water.'

Ward Chairman Khanal said the Prabhas area has been moving forward at a rapid pace of development in recent times. 'With the operation of the drinking water industry, milk processing, Lumbini Medical College, and private schools in Prabhas, great support has been extended to the economic and social development of this area,' he said. Chairman Khanal stated that amid fluctuations in the business sector, the increasing trend of investing in the productive sector will provide a new foundation for Tansen's economic activities.

Prabhas Emerging as a New Economic Hub

Tansen Municipality-7 Prabhas has recently been expanding as a center of educational, health, and commercial activities. Journalist Bharat Sharma believes that economic activities in the Prabhas area have been increasing as various types of industries and institutions have started operating outside the main market area as well. According to him, the operation of new industries and businesses in any area is a sign of increasing economic activity there.

Sharma said that as industries and businesses increase, employment opportunities are created along with increased demand for goods and services at the local level, and economic activities become dynamic. 'Various industries and institutions from different sectors have been increasing in the Prabhas area recently. This has been having a positive impact on the development and expansion of this area,' he said.

Although Tansen is known as Nepal's old commercial and administrative center, businessmen have complained that there has been some decline in trade and business here recently. With reduced customer footfall in the market, development of new commercial centers, and changes in consumer spending patterns, the establishment of new industries in the local area is considered a positive achievement.
