Domestic airlines agree to sell tickets below approved fares after PM's directive
Following the directive of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and the active initiative of Tourism Minister Khadka Raj Paudel, domestic airlines have agreed to sell tickets at prices lower than the approved fares. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) facilitated this agreement after holding discussions with the concerned companies today.
Kathmandu — After the directive of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and the active initiative of Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadka Raj Paudel (Ganesh), domestic airlines have agreed to sell and distribute tickets at prices lower than the approved fares.
Following complaints that airfares had been increased by taking advantage of the upcoming festive season, Prime Minister Shah had shown concern over the matter. Subsequently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) held discussions today with officials and representatives of the concerned domestic airlines.
After the discussion, CAAN stated that the airlines have agreed to sell and distribute tickets at prices lower than the approved fares.
According to CAAN Director General Mukesh Dangol, it has been agreed to sell and distribute tickets at prices lower than the approved fares and to publish information about such fares on the respective companies' sales and distribution platforms.
This agreement is expected to provide relief to passengers during the upcoming festive season.
