Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha Appointed Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority
The Cabinet has appointed Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority. Shrestha, who was previously the acting Executive Director, replaces Hitendra Dev Shakya, who was automatically relieved of his post due to an ordinance.
Kathmandu — Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority. The Cabinet meeting held on Friday decided to appoint Shrestha as the Executive Director, according to government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.
Previously, Shrestha was serving as the acting Executive Director of the Authority. He will replace Hitendra Dev Shakya, who was automatically relieved of his post due to an ordinance issued by the government on Baisakh 19.
Shakya was removed from the post by then Energy Minister Kul Man Ghising, but was reinstated following a Supreme Court mandamus.
