Digital Dashain: Wallets to Allow Up to 50 Daily Deposits
Nepal Rastra Bank has amended the unified payment system directive to raise the daily deposit limit for digital wallets to 50 transactions. The facility will apply from Ashwin 31 to Kartik 8 and from Kartik 21 to 29.
Kathmandu — Digital wallets will now allow up to 50 deposits per day during the festive season. Nepal Rastra Bank made this arrangement by amending the unified directive on the payment system.
The facility is specifically targeted at the Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, according to the central bank. Previously, the daily deposit limit for wallets was lower, causing inconvenience to users conducting digital transactions during the festivals.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the amended provision will apply during the following periods:
- Ashwin 31 to Kartik 8
- Kartik 21 to 29
This is expected to facilitate consumers making digital payments for dakshina, gifts, and other transactions during the festive season.
