Constitution Day: Kathmandu Shikshalaya Holds Cycle Rally in Solidarity with Flood and Landslide Victims
Kathmandu Shikshalaya Lalitpur organized a cycle rally on the occasion of Constitution Day to express solidarity with flood and landslide victims and to spread a message of environmental conservation. The school announced that 25 percent of the funds collected from the rally, which saw participation of over 300 cyclists, will be deposited in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Kathmandu. On the occasion of Constitution Day, Kathmandu Shikshalaya Lalitpur organized a cycle rally to express solidarity with flood and landslide victims and to spread a message of environmental conservation.
The rally, held under the slogan 'Cycle Rally for Flood Victims, Unity for Humanity', saw the participation of more than 300 cyclists. Harigovinda Shrestha, Mayor of Mahalaxmi Municipality, inaugurated the rally.
The rally, which started from Imadol, passed through Gwarko, Balkumari, Tikathali, Balkot, Lubhu, and Lamatar before concluding back at the school premises. The rally was conducted in two categories: 20 and 25 kilometers.
School Chairman and mountaineer Prakash Raj Pandey said the cycle rally is being promoted as a campaign linked to sports as well as social responsibility, humanitarian service, and environmental conservation.
The school announced that 25 percent of the funds collected from registration fees will be deposited in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The school also announced that it will organize a cycle rally every year on the occasion of Constitution Day from now on.
