Constitution Day at Tundikhel: Grand Military Ceremony and Cultural Performances
On Saturday, Constitution and National Day was celebrated across the country, marking the anniversary of the promulgation of Nepal's Constitution. The main ceremony at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel, Kathmandu, was attended by the President, Prime Minister, and other high-ranking officials.
Kathmandu — Commemorating the day Nepal's Constitution was promulgated, Constitution and National Day was celebrated across the country on Saturday with various programs.
On 3 Ashwin 2072 BS, the Constituent Assembly promulgated the 'Constitution of Nepal', establishing a federal democratic republic, secularism, inclusivity, and fundamental rights. Every year, 3 Ashwin is observed as Constitution and National Day to commemorate that day.
On the occasion, the main ceremony was held at the Army Pavilion Tundikhel in Kathmandu. The ceremony was attended by the following high-ranking dignitaries:
- President Ram Chandra Paudel
- Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen)
- Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav
- Chief Justice
- Speaker of the House of Representatives
- Chairman of the National Assembly
Additionally, heads of constitutional bodies and other high-ranking officials were also present at the ceremony.
At the main ceremony, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, various cultural groups, and students performed march-pasts, tableaux, and cultural presentations. The program conveyed messages related to the importance of the Constitution, national unity, and the strengthening of the democratic system.
