Constitution Day 2083: Celebrated nationwide with various programs

Kathmandu — Today, Constitution Day 2083 is being celebrated across the country with various programs.
Government and private offices nationwide, diplomatic missions abroad, political parties, civil society, and organizations are marking Constitution Day by organizing various events.
The first President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, announced the promulgation of the 'Constitution of Nepal 2072' on Ashwin 3, 2072. This year marks 11 years since the Constitution was drafted and came into implementation.
With the announcement of the new Constitution's enforcement, the Interim Constitution of Nepal 2063 was repealed. At the time of the Constitution's promulgation, the late Subas Chandra Nembang was the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly.
This Constitution established a new governance system in Nepal, primarily featuring:
- Federalism
- Secularism
- Socialist-oriented federal democratic republican governance system
When the Constitution was promulgated, 537 members of the Constituent Assembly from participating parties signed it. The 'Constitution of Nepal, 2072' consists of 35 parts, 308 articles, and 9 schedules.
