Congress conventions completed in 3,396 wards across 43 districts
Under the Nepali Congress's 15th Central General Convention, conventions and elections were completed in 3,396 wards across 43 districts on Saturday. The party said ward conventions will continue in 31 more districts on Sunday.
Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has announced that conventions and elections were completed in 3,396 wards across 43 districts on Saturday, as part of its 15th Central General Convention.
According to a decision of the Congress Central Working Committee, the ward convention process began today under the 15th Central General Convention, which is scheduled to be held from Ashoj 16 to 19. The party said ward committees and regional representatives were selected through the ward conventions.
According to the Congress, conventions were completed in the following districts:
- Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Dhankuta, Solukhumbu, Udayapur, Jhapa, Morang, Mahottari, Ramechhap, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Gorkha, Kaski, Manang, Parbat, Syangja, Baglung, Nawalpur, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Rukum East, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Surkhet, Doti, Achham, Darchula, Baitadi, Kanchanpur, and Kailali.
According to the schedule published by the Central Election Committee, the Congress said ward conventions will continue on Sunday in 31 districts, excluding Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading.
As per the Congress's revised election schedule, ward conventions are set for Ashoj 3 and 4. After the ward conventions, conventions for rural and municipal levels will be held on Ashoj 7, provincial assembly constituency and House of Representatives constituency conventions on Ashoj 10, and the Central General Convention from Ashoj 16 to 19.
