CIAA donates Rs 6.162 million to flood victims
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has deposited Rs 6,162,508 into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for Bhote Koshi flood victims. Officials and staff of the commission contributed the amount by voluntarily deducting portions of their salaries.
Kathmandu — The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has deposited Rs 6,162,508 into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support Bhote Koshi flood victims.
According to CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane, the amount was deposited into the fund on Wednesday.
The contribution was made by officials and staff of the commission through voluntary salary deductions. Accordingly:
- Officials of the commission contributed 15 days' salary
- The secretary of the commission and gazetted first-class (under-secretary or equivalent) civil service and police service employees contributed 10 days' salary
- Under-secretaries, section officers and equivalent civil servants contributed 7 days' salary
- Non-gazetted civil servants contributed 5 days' salary
- Classless employees contributed 2 days' salary
The commission stated that the equivalent amounts were voluntarily deducted and deposited into the relief fund.
