The Changan Nevo Q05 has secured the top spot in China's compact SUV segment for the fifth consecutive month in August 2026. It recorded 17,349 unit sales in August, while deliveries are set to begin in Nepal within a few days.
Kathmandu. The Changan Nevo Q05 has continued its strong market performance in China, securing the position of the country's best-selling compact SUV in August 2026. With this, the Q05 has successfully remained at the top of its segment for the fifth consecutive month.
The Nevo Q05 was only recently unveiled in Nepal a few weeks ago. It received an encouraging response from Nepali customers, gathering a large number of bookings at the NADA Auto Show. Its deliveries are now set to begin within a few days.
According to the latest retail sales data from China, 17,349 units of the Q05 were sold in August. This result continues the Q05's leadership in the compact SUV segment from April to August 2026.
Maintaining consistently strong demand in China, one of the world's largest and most competitive automobile markets, is a significant achievement for the Q05. The Q05 first reached the top of the segment in April with sales of 15,814 units.
- May: 15,954 units
- June: 18,908 units
- July: 18,871 units
- August: 17,349 units
In these five months alone, a total of 86,896 units of the Q05 were retailed.
Ahead of Established Competitors
In the August sales list, the Q05 surpassed established competitors from both Chinese and international markets. The Toyota Corolla Cross ranked second with 14,675 units.
The model known as the Geely Boyue L in China and the Geely Starray in international markets sold 14,302 units. Sales of the Toyota RAV4 stood at 14,062 units. Similarly, the BYD Song Pro New Energy, sold as the BYD Sealion 5 in various international markets, recorded sales of 13,954 units.
The model known as the Geely Xingyue L in China and the Geely Monjaro in international markets sold 13,287 units. Thus, in August, the Q05 outpaced its nearest competitor by 2,674 units.
Although Q05 sales in August were slightly lower compared to July, it remained clearly ahead of its main competitors. Maintaining monthly sales above 15,000 units for five consecutive months shows that its success is not limited to initial excitement or short-term promotion.
Key Reasons for Growing Popularity
The main reason for the Q05's popularity is its strong combination of space, comfort, technology, and price. Its 2,735 mm wheelbase provides a spacious cabin.
- Reclining rear seats
- Practical luggage capacity
- Nine-layer seat construction
- Multiple storage spaces
These features make it useful for families. CATL battery cells and 3C fast charging technology can charge the battery from 30 to 80 percent in about 15 minutes under suitable conditions.
Modern design, an aerodynamic profile, smart features, and a premium-looking interior have also increased its appeal among young and tech-savvy customers.
Five consecutive months of leadership in China's compact SUV segment have given the Changan Nevo Q05 strong market recognition. Its continued success indicates that customers are beginning to prioritize EVs that offer an 'A Class Above' experience in comfort, design, and technology within an accessible price range.
