Capital Market Downturn Leaves Investors Disheartened, Seeking Alternative Income Sources
As the stock market continues to decline, investors are growing disillusioned. Full-time investors are now turning to alternative professions and income sources. The example of investor Machhindra Basnet, who has entered the insurance and tourism sectors, illustrates this trend.
In recent times, the stock market has been continuously declining. It was expected that the market would rise after a stable government was formed, but the situation turned out to be exactly the opposite. Investors in the capital market are currently in a state of disappointment.
The disillusionment has grown to such an extent that investors who were until recently engaged full-time in the stock market are now searching for alternatives. The capital market downturn has not yet forced them to change their profession entirely, but they have started choosing other occupations as alternative income sources.
One such investor is Machhindra Basnet. Until some time ago, he was involved as a full-time investor, seeing potential in the stock market. But now, he has started pursuing other professions as alternatives to the stock market. He says that success cannot be achieved by relying solely on the stock market.
"Success cannot be achieved by engaging full-time in the stock market. One must seek alternatives," he said.
He has now entered the insurance and tourism sectors. He says he had to choose other sectors for income sources. He is currently affiliated as an insurance agent with Citizens Life Insurance. Similarly, he has also participated in the tourism sector through DM Horizon Tours and Travels Pvt. Ltd. He says DM Horizon arranges domestic and international travel, air ticket booking, and vehicles necessary for family trips.
Until recently focused only on the stock market, he is now attracted to other businesses as well.
