Cabinet decides to table Federal Civil Service Bill in Parliament, approves health grant and forest land use
The government has decided to table a bill to amend and integrate laws related to the federal civil service in the Federal Parliament. The Cabinet also accepted a USD 20.7 million grant from the US government, approved the use of national forest land for various hydropower and road projects, and promoted and appointed two senior administrative officials.
Kathmandu. The government has decided to table the bill to amend and integrate laws related to the federal civil service in the Federal Parliament. The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, as informed by Sasmit Pokharel, spokesperson of the Government of Nepal and Minister for Education and Sports.
The meeting also decided to accept a grant assistance of USD 20.7 million from the US government for health service improvement.
The Cabinet approved the use of national forest land for the construction of the Kamala–Dhalkebar–Pathlaiya road section under the East–West Highway, the Gajard Khola small hydropower project, and the 40 MW Balehikhola hydropower project.
Approval was also given to use national forest land for the construction of training academies, gulma (battalions), and border security posts of the Armed Police Force, Nepal. The meeting approved the tabling of bills to amend the Animal Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act, 2055 and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2074 in the Federal Parliament.
The Cabinet also promoted and appointed two senior officials in the administration.
- Deputy Secretary Abha Shrestha Karna was promoted and appointed as the Chief Secretary of Gandaki Province.
- Dr. Jagdishwar Karmacharya of the Nepal Engineering Service was promoted and appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
