Budhi Gandaki Flood Damages 4 Hydropower Projects, Sweeps Away Construction Structures and Equipment
A sudden flood in the Budhi Gandaki River has damaged 4 hydropower projects. The main camp of the 341 MW Budhi Gandaki project was swept away, while other projects suffered damage to their bailey bridges, access roads, and construction equipment.
Kathmandu — A sudden flood in the Budhi Gandaki River has damaged 4 hydropower projects. According to preliminary reports, the flood caused damage to the Budhi Gandaki, Dobhan Khola, Yaru Khola, and Machha Khola hydropower projects.
The largest damage occurred at the 341 MW Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project. The flood swept away the project's main camp area as well as some construction equipment.
Similarly, the flood damaged the 24.5 MW Dobhan Khola Hydropower Project. Some houses in the project's camp area were damaged and a bailey bridge was swept away.
